Bearings/Bushings/SLIding rails
Its self lubricating characteristic, low resistance to friction and endurance to high temperatures enable graphite to be a good choice to be used for bushings and seals. Graphite is preferred when:
- Oil solvents lose their impact in an environment,
- Other bushing materials are exposed to corrosion,
- Bushing oil can't manage to reach bushing constructively,
- High temperature causes greasing liquids to become useless,
- Radial bushing of workbench shafts and submersible pumps needed,
- Oil is not applicable for some shafts,
- Bushing for rotational pieces that function at high temperatures and are in contact with abrasive chemicals.
In some cases, bushing materials are exposed to dry friction and this may cause materials to last less than they are supposed to. In order to prevent that, graphite is used as a lubricator so that bushing components have a longer life span.
